What we do

SIFLC gives Texas Southern students a practical foundation in personal finance and investing. Students from every major are welcome, and the first workshops begin with the basics, including how to read a stock quote.

Learn

Workshops make budgeting, credit, saving, and investing easier to understand. We revise lessons when members tell us they need a clearer explanation.

Practice

Members manage a $100,000 paper portfolio on MarketWatch. Real prices and virtual dollars make it a low-stakes place to test an idea and learn from it.

Pitch

Members research a company, write a thesis, and present their view to judges, who provide written feedback.

Connect

Finance professionals visit each semester. This fall includes the SIFLC Energy Finance Roundtable and a year-end networking event.
